About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end delivery of health and fitness facility construction projects - working with the fitness and Create team on design, through to completion and handover. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality gyms, studios, and wellness-oriented spaces that embody our brand's commitment to performance, innovation, and exceptional member experience.
You'll ensure every project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest design and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of construction projects - Including design, procurement, execution, and handover.
- Develop and work with detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and reporting structures.
- Manage relationships with architects, engineers, consultants and contractors
- Be involved with tender processes, contractor selection, contract administration, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, CDM regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Operations, Design, Facilities, Finance, and Brand to ensure alignment of deliverables.
- Monitor construction progress, quality assurance, risk, and project performance metrics.
- Supervise site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Manage project commissioning, snagging, and operational handover.
- Drive continuous improvement and lessons-learned reviews for future projects.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing construction or refurbishment projects in preferably the health, fitness, leisure, or hospitality sectors.
- Proven track record delivering gym, studio, or club builds from concept to completion.
- Strong technical understanding of construction methodology, M&E systems, and interior fit-outs.
- Excellent project planning, budget control, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with CDM regulations and on-site health & safety management.
- Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
- Experience with multi-site rollout programmes or fast-track fit-outs.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient design, sustainable materials, and smart-building systems.
- Certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or SMSTS.
- Experience delivering projects in live environments where facilities remain operational.
