Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (PBS Trained)

Location: Surbiton

Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with training in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)? We're looking for a calm, compassionate, and proactive individual to join a dedicated specialist education team supporting pupils with complex learning needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

• Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, communication difficulties, and sensory processing challenges.
• Use PBS strategies to promote positive engagement, emotional regulation, and independence.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver personalised learning plans.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils achieve social, emotional, and academic progress.
• Assist with communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, and visual supports.
• Contribute to a calm, safe, and nurturing learning environment.

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly ASD or complex needs.
• PBS training or experience is essential.
• Understanding of trauma-informed or person-centred approaches.
• Patient, resilient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
• A team player with strong communication skills.
• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Health and Social Care is desirable.
