Job Requirements/Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an International Benefits Consultant to join a specialist international team advising SME and consumer clients on their global employee benefit programmes. The role focuses on International Risk insurances (Life, Income Protection, Critical Illness) and ideally International Medical Insurance, while also supporting broader wellbeing and benefit initiatives.

Location: Manchester, Bristol or London

This position offers the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of clients, manage key relationships, and contribute to both account development and new business growth across international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for SME and Consumer clients, providing expert advice on International Risk and Healthcare policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and colleagues across the business.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring renewals, reviews, claims, and medical underwriting are handled efficiently and accurately.
  • Deliver high-quality technical advice and policy recommendations, drawing on specialist knowledge of international insurance propositions.
  • Support new business activity, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and expansion.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across internal systems, ensuring compliance and governance requirements are met.
  • Contribute to operational improvements and best practice processes within the team.
  • Take ownership of your personal and professional development, seeking training and coaching as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in consultancy or administration within Employee Benefits or insurance.
  • Detailed knowledge of International Risk and International Medical benefits relevant to your client portfolio.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident communicator with strong client relationship skills.
  • Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Professional qualifications such as CII IF7 preferred but not essential.
