Salary: £95-£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term and possibility of perm
About the Role:
We are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a warm and inclusive secondary SEN school supporting students with PMLD. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young people who require personalised support throughout their school day.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with PMLD and complex needs
- Assist with personal care and hygiene, including toileting and feeding routines
- Support mobility and physical therapy activities as directed by specialists
- Use communication aids such as Makaton, PECs, or eye-gaze technology
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and medical staff
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in every learner
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting students with PMLD or complex learning difficulties
- One of the most important requirements is to have a fun bubbly personality for the kids and speak English very well due to the children's speech, language, and communication capabilities.
- Comfortable providing personal care and hygiene assistance
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one)
- Calm, caring, and patient approach
- Team player who is proactive and reliable
