Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (PMLD Experience)

Location: Lambeth, South East London (SE24)

Salary: £95-£120 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term and possibility of perm

About the Role:

We are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a warm and inclusive secondary SEN school supporting students with PMLD. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young people who require personalised support throughout their school day.

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with PMLD and complex needs
• Assist with personal care and hygiene, including toileting and feeding routines
• Support mobility and physical therapy activities as directed by specialists
• Use communication aids such as Makaton, PECs, or eye-gaze technology
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and medical staff
• Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in every learner

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting students with PMLD or complex learning difficulties
• One of the most important requirements is to have a fun bubbly personality for the kids and speak English very well due to the children's speech, language, and communication capabilities.
• Comfortable providing personal care and hygiene assistance
• First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one)
• Calm, caring, and patient approach
• Team player who is proactive and reliable
