The Netherhall Educational Association (NEA) has been providing all-round formation for people of all ages for decades, with a particular focus on helping young people develop their talents to the full and use them in the service of society. Through our diverse portfolio of centres and initiatives across the UK and internationally, we touch the lives of thousands of individuals each year, from university students to City professionals, young people to retreat participants.
Our operations span student accommodation at Netherhall House in London and Grandpont House in Oxford; professional residential facilities at Elmore in West London; personal development courses at Crosmore; youth clubs and study centres at Kelston in Wandsworth and Dunreath in Glasgow; retreat and conference facilities at Wickenden Manor in Sussex; plus extensive outreach activities and international educational projects. Activities of a spiritual nature at NEA centres are entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church.
We are seeking a Chief Executive Officer who can lead NEA through its next phase of evolution. Our trustees have set ambitious projects for the next five years to ensure continued sustainability. This is a hands-on CEO role that combines strategic leadership with practical delivery. NEA operates through a deliberately decentralised model with a small central office, giving centre managers autonomy while the CEO provides enabling support through overseeing major works, improving facilities, modernising systems and processes and capacity building through fundraising.
We are seeking a candidate with proven strategic leadership experience in running a not-for-profit organisation and of successful fundraising, combined with strong financial knowledge, particularly in the area of VAT. We need someone with practical know-how in running halls of residence, conference centres or clubs, who can bring hands-on expertise to our diverse operations. Proven negotiating skills with stakeholders - from local authorities and contractors to funders and partners - are crucial for success in this role.
You will also need the vision and skills to implement change that strengthens our central support functions while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit that characterises our individual centres.
Saxton Bampfylde Ltd is acting as an employment agency advisor to NEA on this appointment. For further information about the role, including details about how to apply, please visit using reference KBVDA. Alternatively email . Applications should be received by noon on Thursday 10 July.
