Joinery Estimator

We are a bespoke joinery contractor looking for a 'Joinery Estimator', to support the pre-contract department with providing timely costs for the commercial office fit-out client.

Salary negotiable - will reflect knowledge and experience in the industry.

The Successful Candidate:

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Estimator/Director; to generate quotes and assist with managing client expectations, to ensure all aspects of the sales order meet requirement.

You will analyse data from initial enquiries to define project requirements, for the products and services we offer, and collate costs accordingly.

The ideal candidate will have time served providing costs in the Joinery/Furniture manufacturing industry. Be competitive, and results driven. Technically minded, and with a keen eye for detail. You are good with numbers and can work methodically through workload. An excellent communicator, who is proactive, and motivated to expand your knowledge base in the industry.

Ideal step up for an experienced, time served Cabinet Maker/Joiner/ Contract Manager. MUST have knowledge and experience quoting.

Over time, and with support, you will gain familiarity with the variety in our product range.

Key Responsibilities of a 'Joinery Estimator':

• To review tender drawings with senior estimator, and internal design team.
• To read item/project specifications and interpret them on drawings.
• Liaise with the client with any technical queries.
• To provide administration support to senior estimator when required.
• Negotiate supplier costs.
• Follow up open enquiries.
• Maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals to promote good workmanship and client relations.

Skills & Attributes of a 'Joinery Estimator':

• Proactive, and can use intiative.
• Logical thinker, quick with numbers, good with math.
• Quick learner, who is attentive to learn and is receptive to new processes.
• Well organised and can multitask whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Basic telephone etiquette and clear communication skills.
• PC literate, with basic working knowledge of Excel/Microsoft Office.
• Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player, but equally able to work independently.

Requirements 'Joinery Estimator':

• A good understanding of how joinery/furniture items are made and assembled
• Understands 2D AutoCAD drawings.
• Knowledge of the tendering process, with ideally 5yrs experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of joinery materials, i.e., veneers, laminates, solid surfaces
• Good level of written and spoken English
• Holds a full clean UK Driving License
