Financial Accountant
This role sits within the Global Workplace Solutions ("GWS") segment of CBRE in the central Controllership finance team looking after the UK & Ireland ("UK&I") business, which has an annual turnover of c. $2.7bn.

This role provides expertise and capability to help GWS manage our risks effectively and meet our financial control and compliance obligations.

Responsibilities
  • Support Business Finance on technical accounting matters using expertise within Controllership to provide accurate guidance

  • Develop knowledge of sub-segment processes and identify opportunities for enhancement and / or efficiency improvement

  • Attend Business Finance meetings to fully understand the performance of the sub-segments (e.g. month-end performance reviews, project / contract / balance sheet reviews)

  • Challenge, support and contribute to judgmental decisions impacting financial reporting within Business Finance

  • Support both Business Finance and Controllership in successfully closing the ledgers accurately & on-time each financial close

  • Periodically review ASC606 checklists for new contracts to ensure correct assumptions for revenue recognition

  • Assist the Financial Reporting Team within Controllership with explanations for variances in the Balance Sheet flux analysis (a key SOX control)

  • Play a key role in preparing the revenue analytics by reviewing revenue checklists prepared by Business Finance (a compensating SOX control over revenue).

  • Assist the sub-segment Financial Controllers in completing quarterly reporting to Group, including but not limited to; the technical questionnaire, non-GAAP reporting disclosures, SAB99 submission and S302 return.

  • Support the Statutory Accounting Managers with the Group and Statutory audits


Person Specification
  • ACA or ACCA qualified accountant or equivalent

  • Experience of working with internal controls, which is likely to include experience in working in external / internal audit

  • Demonstrable aptitude for business process improvement

  • Experience of preparing reports for key stakeholders

  • Experience working with SOX controls preferred
