Are you an experienced Transport Planner with a solid background in container load planning? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established logistics operation based in the Portsmouth area, offering flexible working hours and an excellent benefits package.

The Role

As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating daily fleet operations to ensure that deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. You will manage driver schedules, vehicle allocations, and route planning while maintaining compliance with all transport and driver regulations.

You will also work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth communication and operational excellence, with each day bringing new challenges and opportunities to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transport operations for a mixed fleet
• Manage and monitor driver hours, compliance, and vehicle safety
• Liaise with drivers, customers, and external partners to ensure timely deliveries
• Oversee container load planning and optimise vehicle utilisation
• Handle any delays or route issues promptly and professionally
• Maintain accurate records of jobs, costs, and compliance documentation

About You

• Proven experience planning container loads within transport, logistics, or haulage
• Strong understanding of transport legislation and driver compliance
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Confident using IT systems, including Excel and transport management software
• Flexible approach to working hours and occasional weekend cover
