About the role

Are you an experienced M&E Construction Manager with a passion for safety, sustainability, and leadership? Join Balfour Beatty in the South East and play a key role in delivering high-profile projects that make a difference.

As an M&E Construction Manager at Balfour Beatty, you will take full ownership of site-based construction activities. You'll lead from the front-managing site managers, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of works in line with programme, budget, safety, and quality expectations.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the delivery of construction activities, ensuring high standards of safety, sustainability, and quality.

  • Manage all subcontract works, site briefings, RAMS, and daily work coordination.

  • Supervise site managers and work closely with Project Manager, QS, Design and Planning teams.

  • Present project progress at Monthly Project Reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including Zero Harm and sustainability targets.

  • Manage project schedules, optimise resources, and ensure timely delivery.

  • Oversee subcontractor performance, attendance, and progress on-site.

  • Actively support customer relationships, driving communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure all post-completion and defect issues are handled professionally to maintain strong client relationships.


Who we're looking for

  • Proven experience in a construction management role within the M&E or general construction sector.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of construction financials.

  • Familiarity with working in live operational environments.

  • Previous experience with digital construction tools such as BIM 360 Field and Plan.

  • Committed to continuous improvement in safety and sustainability.

  • CSCS Card (valid and appropriate level)

  • SMSTS

  • First Aid

  • Temporary Works Coordinator

  • Asbestos Awareness
