About Us:Horizon Teachers is working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Kingston to find a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time role, working from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, supporting children on a one-to-one and small group basis supporting students to access the EYFS National curriculum. The school has a caring, inclusive atmosphere where staff and pupils feel valued and can make a real difference.
The Role:We're looking for someone who is patient, understanding, and passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive. As a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be working closely with children who need extra support with their learning, behaviour, or emotional development. You'll help create a positive learning environment, working alongside teachers to adapt activities and provide encouragement, guidance, and a steady presence in their day-to-day school life.
Key Responsibilities: - Supporting KS1 children with special educational needs including Autism and ADHD, both in small groups and one-to-one basis
- Supporting the planning and delivery of activities tailored to each child's needs
- Creating a safe, calm, and engaging learning space
- Working closely with teachers, parents, and the school's SENCO to support each child's progress
- Encouraging emotional and social development alongside academic learning across all core subject areas
