Full-time 36 hours per week (Mon-Fri) Hybrid Working PAYE: £23.81 per hour LTD/Umbrella: £30.88 per hour Basic DBS required

Are you an experienced Complaints Investigator looking for your next challenging and rewarding role? We're recruiting on behalf of a London-based council in Wembley for professionals with strong investigative skills, excellent written communication, and the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders. If your complaints experience is in housing this would be beneficial!

The Role

You will lead complex complaint investigations, ensuring fair, thorough, and customer-focused outcomes. This includes:

• Managing Stage 2 complaint investigations from start to finish
• Drafting high-quality, evidence-based responses on behalf of Corporate Directors
• Working across departments, engaging with senior managers and key stakeholders
• Applying tact, diplomacy, and sound judgement while maintaining the persistence needed to follow each investigation through to completion

Hybrid working is available, with a requirement to attend the office in Wembley when needed.

Key Experience Needed

We are seeking candidates with extensive complaints handling experience, particularly (but not exclusively) in:

• Housing & repairs
• Homelessness
• Public realm services
• Complex, cross-departmental disputes

You should be confident writing formal responses, handling sensitive issues, and working in a fast-paced local government environment.

Requirements

• Strong background in complaint investigation (local authority experience highly desirable)
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills
• Ability to liaise professionally with senior stakeholders
• Tact, diplomacy, and investigative tenacity
• Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS check
