Nursery Manager
Contract: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, Full Year)Salary: £34,500 FTE (dependent on experience)Hours: Between 7:30am and 6:30pm on a rota basisStart Date: July 2026
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Nursery Manager to lead our early years setting. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate childcare professional with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding care and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of the nursery.
- Ensure high-quality care and learning in line with the EYFS.
- Support, develop and manage the nursery team.
- Maintain safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and staff.
- Oversee nursery administration, including staffing, records, funding and fees.
- Monitor quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage admissions, nursery tours and transition arrangements.
- Lead staff appraisals, supervision and professional development.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Person Specification - Essential
- Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Experience in a nursery management or senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of EYFS and early years legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Experience managing budgets.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Desirable
- EYTS, Level 5 qualification or above.
- DSL training.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Experience with learning journey software (e.g. Seesaw).
- Knowledge of local authority funding.
