Job Requirements/Description

A lifestyle Hotel based on London's eccentric South Bank. With 354 bedrooms, award-winning food and drink outlets and an electric energy, Sea Containers London is a destination where glamour meets brutalism - and it's your London anchor on the River Thames.

At Sea Containers London, we do things differently. Part of the award-winning Lore Group, our hotel combines bold design, riverside glamour, and unparalleled hospitality. We're now seeking a Director of Front Office - an inspirational leader who will champion our guest journey while driving operational and financial excellence.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, the Director of Front Office will sit on the hotel's Leadership Team and oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of our Front Desk, Guest Services, Below Deck, and Door & Bell teams. This role is about more than operations - it's about creating seamless, personalised guest experiences that reflect the spirit of Sea Containers London.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Lead the daily operations of the Front Office departments, ensuring smooth check-in, check-out, and room management.
  • Uphold and elevate service standards, resolving guest issues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Champion innovative ways to enhance the guest journey in line with our Coyle audit standards.

Revenue & Commercial Performance

  • Collaborate with Revenue, Sales, and Marketing teams to optimise pricing, promotions, and inventory.
  • Drive room revenue through upselling and market trend analysis.
  • Monitor performance against budget goals, implementing cost-control measures without compromising service quality.

Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing Front Office team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability.
  • Partner with Learning & Development to design and deliver impactful training.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coach leaders, and develop succession plans.

Financial Management & Compliance

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and headcount plans.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire regulations, GDPR, and all relevant legislation.
  • Integrate and optimise technology to improve efficiency and service delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant leadership experience in Front Office / Rooms Division within a luxury or lifestyle hotel of similar scale.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue optimisation.

Salary: Competitive bonus, plus benefits

At Sea Containers London we are committed to giving our employees the skills and support required to deliver extraordinary experiences, and most importantly, to grow in their careers. On top of this we also like to offer our teams a wide range of benefits including:

  • Guest experience including dinner and drinks
