Catering Assistant

Our client , a care centre near Hindhead, Surrey is currently looking for a Catering Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and professional catering team, providing high-quality food and excellent service in a well-structured environment.

The Role:
As a Catering Assistant, you will play an essential role in the smooth operation of the catering department. From setting up & clearing down the dining areas, to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, your contribution will help ensure the highest level of service.

This Catering Assistant position offers a good hourly pay rate plus a fantastic enhanced pay rate of 18.32 per hour for weekends and bank holidays.

Hours of work:
37.5 hours per week
Daytimes
5 out of 7 days per week
Alternate weekends

Key Responsibilities:
Serve meals to staff and visitors in a friendly and efficient manner
Maintain cleanliness of dining and service areas, including washing up and stock rotation
Assist in setting up and clearing down service areas and functions
Assist chefs with food preparation, including handling fresh ingredients
Operate basic kitchen equipment and follow health & safety procedures
Handle payments of staff meals when required

The Ideal Catering Assistant will have/be:
Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or food service
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
A team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Awareness of food safety, allergens, and hygiene standards
