Are you a passionate Humanities teacher with a specialism in Geography or History?

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a secondary SEMH school in Kensington and Chelsea. This full-time role will involve having a specialism in Geography or History and teaching both PSHE and Citizenship alongside the school's main subjects to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, and providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive academically and socially.

About the Role:

As a Teacher of Humanities, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and relevant lessons in your specialism (Geography or History) while also teaching PSHE and Citizenship. You will work closely with students to develop their academic abilities, encourage critical thinking, and build emotional resilience. Your teaching will help students understand the world around them and prepare them for future challenges.

Responsibilities of a Humanities Teacher:

• Deliver engaging lessons in Geography or History, ensuring the content is accessible and relevant to the needs of SEMH students.
• Teach PSHE and Citizenship alongside your main subject to support students personal development.
• Provide a structured, supportive learning environment that encourages engagement, participation, and positive behaviour.
• Use a range of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to guide improvement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create individualised learning plans and strategies to support students needs.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
• Contribute to the development of the school s ethos, values, and culture.

For the Humanities Teacher role, what we want:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• A degree in Humanities, Geography, History, or a related subject.
• Proven experience teaching Humanities subjects such as Geography, History, PSHE and Citizenship at KS3 and KS4.
• Previous experience working with SEMH students is essential.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with diverse needs.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students.
