PE Teacher - ASC
Location: Outer London Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience) Contract: Full-time Start Date: September 2026
The Role
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and skilled PE Teacher to join a dedicated SEND team, working with pupils with autism and associated needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by promoting physical wellbeing, confidence, and positive social interaction through inclusive and structured physical education.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging PE lessons adapted to meet individual needs, supporting pupils to develop physical skills, emotional regulation, communication, and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver differentiated PE lessons tailored to pupils with autism and SENDCreate a safe, calm, and structured learning environment that supports sensory and emotional needsUse a range of inclusive teaching strategies, visual supports, and positive behaviour approachesWork closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary teamMonitor and assess pupil progress in line with EHCP targetsPromote teamwork, self-esteem, and physical wellbeingEnsure all activities meet safeguarding, health and safety requirementsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualificationExperience teaching PE, ideally within a SEND or autism setting, or a strong interest in SENDA good understanding of autism and neurodiversityPatience, empathy, and a flexible approach to teachingStrong communication and teamwork skillsA commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeingWe Offer
