Specialty Doctor - Mental Health
We're seeking an experienced and motivated Specialty Doctor to join a progressive mental health service in Chelmsford, providing high-quality care to adults and adolescents across a range of specialist pathways, including CAMHS, eating disorders, and addictions.
Working closely with a Consultant Psychiatrist and multidisciplinary team, you'll play a vital role in assessment, treatment planning, and clinical leadership-making a real difference in patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric assessments and contribute to care planning under Consultant supervision
Prepare discharge summaries, clinical reports, and documentation for CPA and reviews
Support the delivery of high standards of medical care across wards and outpatient services
Liaise with the GP and RMO to provide physical health care and emergency interventions
Request and follow up on investigations, ensuring timely clinical responses
Take part in clinical governance, audits, and CPD activities
Provide mentorship and induction for new medical staff
What You'll Need:
Full GMC registration
Experience working in mental health settings (CAMHS, addictions or eating disorders desirable)
Strong communication and documentation skills
A team-oriented approach and commitment to continuous improvement
