SEN College LSA

Are you flexible, patient, caring and confident with children and young people? This is a small SEN college that caters for young adults with PMLD, Complex needs, ASD and Speech and Language difficulties.

• £110 - £120 per day, depending on experience
• 35 hours per week, Term Time only
• 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday
• Up to £120 per day for candidates with extensive experience or qualifications such as Teaching Assistant at NVQ Level 2 or above

Not only will you gain invaluable first-hand experience in a secondary school environment, you will also have the opportunity to network with Speech and Language specialists and ELSA practitioners based at the school. About the role

• Working in a mainstream secondary school that has a high number of pupils with SEND needs
• Deliver classroom support for Key Stage 3 pupils either 1:1 or groups of students
• Understand and support independent learning and inclusion of all students as required
• Support the teaching in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress
• Monitor and manage stock and supplies for the classroom
• Supervise students between lessons and when entering and leaving the school

The right candidate

• Maths and English GCSE grade A -C / 9-4 or equivalent
• Experience of working with young people, particularly those with SEND needs.
• Confident to converse with parents, students and members of the public
• Good ICT skills
