Introduction:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Primary School Caretaker to ensure our school environment is safe, secure, and well-maintained, providing an optimal learning atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Opening and closing school buildings, ensuring site security.
• Conducting minor repairs and general maintenance tasks (DIY, basic plumbing, etc.).
• Performing regular health & safety checks, including fire alarms and emergency exits.
• Maintaining cleanliness in communal areas, both indoor and outdoor.
• Monitoring heating, lighting, and water systems.
• Assisting in setting up sites for school events and meetings.
• Liaising with external contractors and reporting site issues.
• Upholding safeguarding standards on school premises.

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience as a caretaker or in a facilities role (preferred).

• Proficient in basic maintenance and DIY skills.

• Proactive, reliable, and trustworthy.

• Strong communication skills and flexibility to meet the school's needs.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
