Trustees & Chair of The Board

We are currently looking for passionate, thoughtful and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees, including a Chair of the Board, as Deafinitely Theatre enters an exciting new phase of growth.

Deafinitely Theatre is the UK's first deaf-launched and deaf-led professional theatre company, working bilingually in British Sign Language (BSL) and spoken English. We create high-quality theatre for deaf and hearing audiences, tour nationally and support the next generation of deaf artists through our youth and training programmes.

Whether you are an experienced professional or someone who is simply excited by theatre, access and social impact, we would love to hear from you.

We are particularly keen to welcome Trustees with skills or lived experience in:

• Deaf lived experience and strong connections to deaf communities
• Touring or commercial producing at a senior level
• Finance, governance or senior leadership

We are also recruiting a new Chair of the Board, to succeed our outgoing Chair, allowing for a supported handover of responsibilities ahead of his formal step-down in December. The Chair will work closely with the Artistic Director and Executive Director to provide strategic leadership, ensure strong governance, and help guide the organisation's long-term direction.

This is a voluntary, unpaid role, with reasonable expenses (such as travel) reimbursed.

As a deaf-led theatre company for everyone, we particularly encourage applications from deaf and hard of hearing people, people from the Global Majority, and those under 30.
