IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the management, installation, maintenance, availability, and security of the school's ICT systems, including both hardware and software infrastructure. You'll work closely with senior leadership to help shape and develop IT strategy and deliver planned projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring that IT systems support effective teaching, learning, and administration, while maintaining a secure and stable environment.Clear and professional communication with stakeholders is vital. You will act as a bridge between the school and the IT provider, ensuring services are delivered in line with expectations, while managing client relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities: - Managing the school's network infrastructure and ICT-based systems
- Monitoring and maintaining key systems including switches, physical and virtual servers, Microsoft 365 and backup solutions
- Providing technical advice, training, and support to staff to ensure effective use of systems
- Overseeing day-to-day IT operations, ensuring timely response to support requests
- Line managing ICT support staff
- Delivering 2nd and 3rd line support
- Preparing and sending weekly service updates and monthly service review reports, including SLA tracking
- Ensuring IT use complies with school policies
- Training and developing internal technical staff
Ideal Candidate Will Have: - A strong passion for IT, with at least 2-3 years' experience as an IT Manager, Network Manager, or Senior ICT Consultant within a school environment
- A thorough understanding of the responsibilities and dynamics of working in education
- Hands-on experience upgrading school network systems
- Self-motivation, excellent communication, and strong customer service skills
- The ability to work independently and within a team, with a proactive mindset and strong problem-solving abilities
- This is a full-time, year-round position. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
