Assembly Fitter

We are looking for an assembly fitter to join an automotive engineering firm in Halstead, Essex. The company are looking for someone who is keen to learn that has experience working with hand and power tools in ideally a mechanical setting.

The starting salary will be up to 13ph depending on experience, with all overtime paid at 1.5x rate leading to higher earning potential, as well as ongoing progression. Hours of work are Monday-Thursday, 07:30-16:30 with a 13:30 finish on a Friday!

The main duty of the role is to use various hand & power tools to assemble automotive parts from engineering drawings.

Assembly duties include:

• Assembling products using various hand & power tools
• Reading from technical drawings and diagrams
• Fitting large mechanical parts together
• Sticking to deadlines to maintain production output
• Carrying out basic electrical duties, training provided if needed

This position would be suited to anyone who has worked with tools before or has worked within a similar workshop or factory environment. If you have any automotive experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, brakes or installation then this is highly desirable!

Due to the location of the role, you will need to have your own transport to be considered.

This is a permanent role subject to a successful 3-month probation period.
