An established and well-regarded consulting engineering firm in South West London is looking to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer with at least 5 years of UK experience, ideally within a London-based practice. Ideally, you will be Chartered or close to. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and driven individual to join a dynamic team working on innovative civil engineering projects.

Role Overview
As part of the civil engineering team, you will primarily focus on designing below-ground drainage systems with a special emphasis on Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS). Your role will involve developing solutions that address rainwater runoff and flooding risks, contributing to the creation of sustainable and effective drainage solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver below-ground drainage schemes, with a strong focus on SuDS.
• Produce Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies in line with planning requirements and regulations.
• Manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring that all stages are successfully executed.
• Represent the firm at external meetings and site visits, providing expert guidance and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Assist more junior engineers.

About You

• Minimum of 5 years' UK civil engineering experience, preferably gained in a London-based consultancy.
• Proven experience in developing drainage strategies, including the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and addressing planning process requirements.
• Strong understanding of rainwater management and flood mitigation techniques, particularly within the context of SuDS.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex civil engineering challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
