Veritas Education Recruitment are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant primary school in Lewisham. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience as a Cover Supervisor or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to gain valuable experience within a dynamic and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular class teacher, ensuring students remain on task and follow the lesson plan.
• Support students in their learning and personal development, ensuring their well-being is maintained.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Provide support to teachers by preparing classroom resources and assisting with administrative tasks where required.
• Assist with the delivery of planned lessons and activities, helping students engage and understand tasks.
• Maintain effective communication with teaching staff and school leadership, providing feedback as necessary.

Requirements:

• Experience working as a Cover Supervisor, Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), or in a similar role.
• A passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey.
• Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to keep students focused and motivated.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive approach and ability to adapt to different classroom settings and subject areas.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
