Head of Commercial Building Surveying

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially minded Head of Commercial Building Surveying to join a highly regarded consultancy at a pivotal stage of its growth.

Based out of the firm's Farringdon office, this role offers the chance to take ownership of, and significantly shape, the Commercial Building Surveying service line. The business already has a strong and established Residential consultancy offering and is now looking to mirror this success within the Commercial sector, building a market leading team and reputation.

The Opportunity

You will lead the Commercial Building Surveying function, working across a diverse client base and asset types including offices, industrial, retail and other commercial property. Importantly, there is already a solid pipeline of work in place, providing immediate momentum and a strong platform to build from.

This is a senior leadership role with real autonomy, where you will define strategy, grow the team, drive business development and position the firm as a trusted commercial advisory in the London market and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing

- Leading and developing the Commercial Building Surveying service line

- Delivering advice across a range of commercial assets including offices, industrial and retail

- Driving business development and strengthening existing client relationships

- Building, mentoring and managing a high performing team

- Working closely with other service lines to maximise cross selling opportunities

- Playing a key role in the firm's wider commercial growth strategy through 2026 and beyond

What You Need to Be

- MRICS/FRICS qualified Building Surveyor

- Proven commercial experience, ideally within a consultancy environment

- Strong business development capability with a market facing mindset

- Demonstrable experience growing a team and developing a service line

- A confident leader and mentor for junior staff Commercially aware, strategic and entrepreneurial in approach
