P6 Planner
Our client, a leading organisation in the power utilities and energy sector, is currently seeking a highly skilled P6 Planner to join their team. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a range of projects in power distribution, including EHV cabling, substation construction, and innovative low carbon build projects.
Key Responsibilities: - Analyse and evaluate project tender and bid documents to build detailed programmes specifying cost, time, and resource requirements.
- Collaborate with tender and bid teams during the tender process to coordinate planning activities.
- Develop tender and bid programmes into construction programmes.
- Produce and update programmes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement and manage change control processes, including early warnings and compensation events, and report impacts on approved programmes.
- Coordinate programme inputs and outputs with the construction team, taking the lead on programme development and updates.
- Review construction progress with input from the construction team and supply chain, updating programmes and producing management reports as necessary.
- Create earned value/project reporting, including resource and cost loading with associated CPI and SPI reporting.
- Identify areas of concern regarding construction progress and review risks and mitigation measures with the construction and delivery teams.
- Assist the Project Manager with planning-related matters and attend meetings with Project Teams and Clients.
- Liaise with Client's Planners, Construction Managers, and Project Managers as required.
- Regularly visit project sites to provide planning support and collate progress information for reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company planning techniques and manage other Planners as required.
Job Requirements: - Experienced Practitioner in Primavera P6
- Experience with NEC Form of Contracts
- Working knowledge of FIDIC and JCT forms of contract (Desirable)
- HNC in a construction-related field or equivalent
- Proven knowledge and practical application of project controls, planning, and construction activities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card - Visitor - Yellow (can be obtained)
- Up-to-date with new technology and software developments
- Valid driving licence
