Role Profile

We are seeking a Technical Functional Analyst who can operate confidently at the intersection of business and technology. This role will suit someone experienced in API-driven financial services, with the ability to work autonomously, define solutions, and create high-quality documentation.

You'll take ownership of understanding what our corporate clients need, how we can deliver it technically, and how the overall solution will fit into the bank's broader architecture.

This is a hands-on, analytical, and delivery-focused role that requires both curiosity and initiative - ideal for someone who thrives in greenfield projects and enjoys the challenge of building something new.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and define business and technical requirements for new corporate API products.
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications, data mappings, and API schema documents.
  • Participate in workshops with stakeholders, consultancies, and technical teams to define and refine solution designs.
  • Research and apply Open Banking (PSD2) and Corporate API best practices.
  • Support the creation of functional documentation and testing approaches.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on API functionality, integration, and corporate banking processes.
  • Proactively identify gaps, propose solutions, and drive progress with minimal supervision.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Analyst, Functional Analyst, or Technical Business Analyst within banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, Open Banking, and PSD2 concepts.
  • Solid grasp of payments, cash management, and transaction processing in corporate banking.
  • Ability to write clear, structured technical documentation (functional specs, mapping, schemas).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and workshop participation skills.
  • Experience with relevant standards and technologies such as:

-REST APIs, JSON, OpenAPI specifications

-OBIE (Open Banking Implementation Entity)

-Berlin Group Standards

-ISO 20022 messaging formats

Candidates will need to show evidence of the above in their CV in order to be considered.
