Are you an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)?

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Shepherd s Bush that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex ASC needs on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that is investing significantly in its SEND provision, including the launch of a brand-new specialist unit in September.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with complex ASC needs
  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
  • Implement structured routines and behaviour support strategies
  • Assist with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and safety
  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
  • Contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment

What We re Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly ASC
  • Understanding of behaviour, communication, and sensory needs
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Willingness to support personal care needs
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable, committed, and looking for a long-term opportunity

Desirable:

  • Experience in a specialist provision or ASC unit
  • Knowledge of approaches such as visual supports, structured teaching, or intensive interaction
  • Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3)
