The roleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Application Analyst to join the Hosting Services team within a leading provider of software solutions for Local Government. The role suits a technically skilled individual with a passion for problem-solving, customer service, and modern hosting technologies. The successful candidate will support applications in a Microsoft Windows environment, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service for public sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting for client-server and web applications.

• Resolve incidents and escalations, delivering timely updates to customers.

• Collaborate with project and service desk teams to onboard new customers and maintain build standards.

• Support hosted applications and contribute to process improvements.

• Ensure compliance with security and information management standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience supporting client-server and web-based applications.

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments.

• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle).

• Scripting ability (SQL, PowerShell, Python, VBS).

• Understanding of virtualisation (e.g. VMware) and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls).

• Familiarity with ITIL practices (incident, problem, change management).

• Awareness of security best practices and monitoring tools (e.g. PRTG, Zabbix).

Desirable skills

• Background in Local Government systems.

• Basic project management capability.

• Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and adaptability.
