We are now looking for a Head of Learning and Interpretation to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will lead the strategic development of inclusive and innovative programmes that engage diverse audiences with England's rich heritage.

As our Head of Learning and Interpretation, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a collaborative, high-performing team
  • Develop strategic partnerships across education, culture, and community sectors
  • Collaborate on digital content and research into innovation and youth engagement
  • Support accurate, engaging interpretation through research-informed content
  • Use audience insights, data, and evaluation to improve learning and content programmes
  • Manage budgets and resources to maximise impact

About You

To join us as a Head of Learning and Interpretation, you will need:

  • Proven leadership experience in learning, content, or interpretation roles within heritage, education, or the cultural sector
  • Experience managing diverse teams and large-scale budgets
  • Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of audience engagement trends and digital innovation in heritage and education
  • The ability to use data, research, and feedback to inform strategy and improvement
  • A strategic mindset and the ability to develop long-term, insight-led approaches
  • The vision to identify emerging opportunities and shape inclusive, high-impact programmes
