Interim Senior Financial Reporting Manager
Based in London, hybrid
Length: 6 months initially

Rate: £500 per day via an umbrella company
We are seeking a highly experienced finance professional to take on an interim Senior Financial Reporting Manager role within a local authority. The successful candidate will have at least three years' recent experience operating at Deputy Chief Accountant level in a local government setting.
Key Responsibilities include:
Lead the completion and external audit of the Council's 2024/25 Statement of Accounts, ensuring full statutory compliance
Initiate and oversee preparations for the 2025/26 year-end closure, including robust in-year reconciliation procedures
Manage all aspects of the Collection Fund
Drive automation and digitisation of statutory financial returns using the Council's financial systems
Ensure high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and audit readiness
Experience and knowledge required:
Proven track record in end-to-end production of statutory accounts
Deep understanding of local government finance legislation
Strong leadership in complex financial environments
Experience in financial reporting and audit processes
