An excellent opportunity has become available within an engineering business for a Mechanical Estimator to join the team, working in a
hybrid opportunity, with travel to offices in the Weybridge area,
up to a couple of times a week.
Your Roles and ResponsibilitiesWhile in this role your duties may include but are not limited to: - Digesting and understanding technical specifications and drawings
- Preparing and issuing both sub-contract and supplier enquiry packages
- Producing insightful reports for tender costs
- Measuring and taking-off pipework services from either Tender drawings or from consultants
- Conducting sited visits to establish the scope of the works and any requirements that come about for the site, as well as supporting sub-contractors and specialists to ensure that submissions are compliant and competitive
- Attending, when appropriate, mid-tender and post-tender interviews
- Developing the ASL Excel document, as well as introducing new estimation software tools
- Compiling the tender and any accompanying documentation for approval before submission
- Submitting Tender and portal deliveries
- Providing ongoing estimating support for the contracts team during the period of work
You MUST Have:Please apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria: - Strong experience in estimating, gained either from a previous estimating or sales engineering role
- Extensive experience to the HVAC sector, with a specific exposure to air conditioning
- Proven ability to tender multiple projects at any given time
- Sound ability to produce value engineering solutions
- Able to hit and exceed targets and strive to develop conversion rates
- Aptitude for gathering and understanding project requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written form
- Good awareness of relevant software for estimations

The position holder will join the business to produce accurate estimates for adjudication and with the aim of negotiating successful tenders, managing the full estimation process as well as introducing new software to meet business needs.The business will offer the successful candidate a starting salary of up to £60,000, dependent on the level of previous experience and knowledge.
