Location: Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Central Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ

PAYE: £48.09 per hour

Limited/Umbrella: £61.95 per hour

Ribble Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a local authority in the recruitment of an experienced Housing Surveyor to join their Housing Directorate. This interim role plays a key part in delivering planned improvements and major repairs across a portfolio of 5,200+ residential homes across Central Bedfordshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated surveyor with strong technical knowledge and a passion for improving social housing standards.

Role Overview

Working within the Planned Works Team and/or Repairs Service, you will:

• Deliver and manage planned maintenance programmes and major repair projects
• Ensure all homes meet the Decent Homes Standard
• Carry out site inspections and produce detailed scoping of works
• Oversee programmes including:
• Kitchen & bathroom replacements
• Roofing programmes
• Windows & doors
• Internal & external refurbishments
• Complex/major repairs
• Support contract management and ensure value for money (VFM)
• Provide quality assurance and ensure works are delivered to specification
• Communicate effectively with tenants, contractors, and internal teams

Qualifications & Experience

You will need:

Degree or HND in Building Surveying, Construction Management or similar

OR be qualified by experience within social housing/property services

Strong knowledge of:

• Social Housing Standards
• Decent Homes Standard
• HHSRS (Housing Health & Safety Rating System)
• Landlord statutory responsibilities
• Awareness/experience of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety compliance
• Experience in planned works and repairs contract delivery
