Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Makaton Trained - Non-Verbal Support)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support non-verbal students in a range of SEND schools across Sutton. These are full-time, long-term roles focused on enhancing communication and learning for children with complex communication needs.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for non-verbal pupils, using Makaton to facilitate communication

• Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised communication strategies

• Support students' development in communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation

• Help maintain an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes independence and self-confidence

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Proven experience supporting non-verbal children or pupils with complex communication needs

• Makaton training is essential

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

• Two recent references and the right to work in the UK
