An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced designer with expertise in curtain walling, windows, and doors to join an established design team working on a range of commercial projects across the South East.

This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of remote and on-site work, ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative yet independent working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for new-build commercial glazing projects.

• Review specifications and develop a clear design scope for CAD technicians.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to meet design, cost, and compliance goals.

• Produce high-quality technical drawings and AutoCAD design proposals.

• Identify and mitigate design-related risks.

• Respond to technical queries from initial design through to site installation.

• Support project managers post-handover while maintaining technical oversight.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role within the commercial glazing sector.

• Familiarity with projects valued up to 2 million.

• Strong knowledge of relevant building regulations and British Standards.

• Expertise in curtain walling, window, door, and glazing systems.

• Ability to solve complex technical challenges effectively.

• Good understanding of the impact of design decisions on site installation.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in design work.

• Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings confidently.

• Capable of working both independently and within a team setting.

• Commercial awareness, including lead times and cost implications.
