Position Overview:
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects across various sectors. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients, your expertise will help ensure that bids are competitive and align with the company s financial objectives. This role offers the chance to lead a team and contribute to the company s growth in an exciting phase of development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Preparation: Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for all contract types, including lump sum and time-and-material contracts.
- Team Leadership: Lead the estimating team to deliver accurate and timely estimates, ensuring completeness and precision in all deliverables.
- Risk Assessment: Critically review bid documents to identify potential risks and opportunities, providing management with the necessary information for informed decision-making.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating their proposals to ensure the project scope is fully covered.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis, including material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs, to create accurate project budgets.
- Bid Presentation: Prepare and present bid proposals to clients, clearly communicating the scope, costs, and schedule of projects.
- Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, pricing, and market standards to ensure competitive and precise estimates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in estimating within the Civil Engineering or construction industry.
- Experience with projects involving Groundworks, Concrete Works, RC Structures, and Basements is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
