An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with additional needs. The school is dedicated to ensuring every pupil can reach their full potential, regardless of their starting point, within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
You will work as part of a skilled and supportive team, delivering tailored learning activities and supporting students with a range of needs, including autism and complex learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver learning activities and lessons under the guidance of a qualified teacherSupport pupils with special educational needs, including communication and sensory needsImplement strategies such as visual timetables and structured interventionsPromote positive behaviour and engagement in learningWork collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and support teamsEssential Requirements
HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualificationProven experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and/or severe learning difficultiesConfidence in leading learning activitiesStrong understanding of SEND strategies and interventionsDesirable Skills
Training in behaviour management approaches (e.g. Team Teach)Experience with communication systems such as PECS, Makaton, or AACKnowledge of safeguarding procedures within education settingsWhat's on Offer
