We are seeking a Residential Childcare Practitioner to work with children aged 11-17 years who require nurturing and therapeutic care. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of young people.
Day-to-Day of the Role:- Assist in creating a trauma-informed, person-centred caring environment.
- Engage in keyworking activities, supporting children to develop skills for adulthood.
- Safeguard the welfare of children, implementing child protection procedures.
- Build effective relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
- Promote the service within the community and ensure effective communication.
- Work within legal frameworks and maintain high standards of practice.
- Accompany children to appointments and support their participation in activities.
- Manage and document care effectively, maintaining high-quality records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:- NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Registered and subscribed to the DBS update system.
- Proven experience working with children, preferably in a residential setting.
- Knowledge of good practice principles in residential childcare.
- Ability to work shift patterns including early mornings, late evenings, and alternate weekends.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
