Key Responsibilities
Personal Care & Support -
- Assist residents with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, mobility, and toileting.
- Support residents with feeding and hydration while ensuring their dietary needs are met.
- Promote dignity, independence, and emotional well-being of all residents.
Clinical Support -
- Monitor residents' well-being by checking vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure).
- Assist nurses and senior care staff in basic clinical tasks where required.
- Recognize changes in residents' health and report concerns immediately to senior staff.
Health & Safety Compliance -
- Follow infection prevention & control protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Safely assist with lifting, transferring, and mobility support using hoists and other equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic care environment in line with CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards.
Emotional & Social Support -
- Offer companionship and emotional reassurance to residents.
- Engage in social activities and conversations to promote residents' mental well-being.
- Provide support to residents with dementia and complex care needs.
Documentation & Compliance -
- Maintain accurate records of care activities and observations.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to all care home policies and procedures.
Complete mandatory training (Care Certificate, Safeguarding, Moving & Handling, etc.) before starting shifts.
