The Company

We are currently working with a long-standing family-owned main contractor based in Essex that specialise in Community, Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Ecclesiastical and Residentials schemes.

Established over 60 years ago as a Carpentry contractor, now run by the third generation of the family, the company has grown to become one of the leading building contractors in Essex & East Anglia.

Main Responsibilities:

• Review tender information and employer's requirements, and assess their implications.

• Prepare comprehensive and detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and pricing information.

• Present tender submissions for adjudication and attend relevant meetings.

• Analyse and incorporate tender returns into submission and handover packs.

• Support pre-construction, technical, and planning functions by providing information and assistance.

• Negotiate final contract sums, prepare risk registers, and assist in establishing project budgets.

We're Looking For:

• Good experience working with a main contractor and dealing with projects of similar value.

• Residential / Commercial experience (Preferable)

• Experience of various construction methods

• Experience of controlling costs, timing and quality in line with targets

• Good technical knowledge and the ability to look beyond the information drawn or specified, and to allow for all necessary to complete a task or element of construction

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point

• Ability to use a computerized estimating package

• Good standard of mathematical ability
