International Assistant Merchandiser

Our client has over 160 stores in the UK and a growing Online, Concessions and International business. They have ambitious plans for further growth across both the UK & International markets, and are well known for their customer centric approach, ethics, and fantastic range of innovative products.

They are now looking for an International Assistant Merchandiser to be based out of their Amersham offices. As International Assistant Merchandiser you will be a key player in one of their specialist toy category merchandising teams. Reporting into a Senior Merchandiser/Merchandiser, you will support product planning and trading to help them maximise sales profitability and opportunity. You will work with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation as well as external partners, building strong working relationships within the buying and merchandising teams and with international partners. A key objective for the International Assistant Merchandiser will be to ensure a seamless delivery of a range into all markets.

International Assistant Merchandiser - Responsibilities

- Supporting the Senior Merchandiser with in-season analysis to ensure sales are optimised - managing any risk, and re-forecasting categories.

- Support planning of budgets by category, option count, and depth of buy.

- Understand and follow the business and International critical path, ensuring all key stakeholders are aligned with key meetings and deadlines.

- Maximise partner order fulfilment efficiency by analysing top and bottom-selling products; Identify risks and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.

- Work to market OTB plans, stock plans & terminal stocks across the market, highlighting opportunities or risks.

- Maintain Partner space planning information and store grading to optimise sales densities, SKU count whilst driving stockturn and minimising stock risk.

- Support Senior Merchandiser in liaising with the Channel Manager to ensure a seamless despatch of stock into markets ensuring 100% availability on launch

- Review trade packs, adding commentary, presenting findings in team trade.

- Liaise with International Partners and Account Managers to support product and market strategy, with a customer centric focus.

- Challenge the status quo and create Merchandising best practice, constantly reviewing improvements for efficiency.

International Assistant Merchandiser - Desired Skills

- Previous core retail merchandising experience is essential, working within a merchandising team either as an existing Assistant Merchandiser or experienced Merchandising Administrator.

- You will have experience in a retail merchandising or demand planning and demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities at pace and meet tight deadlines.

- A great communicator and able to build good working relationships.

- Commercially astute and analytical with an inquisitive and questioning nature.

- Familiar with Microsoft Office including advanced Excel skills.
