Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with a range of special educational needs (SEN) in both small group and 1:1 settings.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored educational programs and interventions.
- Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Work closely with class teachers, SENCo, and other professionals to monitor student progress.
- Assist with personal care and ensure the safety and wellbeing of students.
- Provide emotional and social support to students as required.
- Encourage positive behavior management and promote independence.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally with SEN, is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Flexibility and adaptability in supporting students with a variety of learning styles.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
- An understanding of autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other SEN is an advantage.
