Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description:

• We are seeking a proactive and experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing and fast-paced Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Central London. This is a varied role that requires a strong foundation in Azure, networking, and virtualisation, along with a client-focused mindset. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a wide range of client infrastructures, delivering high-quality IT solutions, and taking ownership of technical projects across multiple environments.
• This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives on variety, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to work across different sectors and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on support and maintenance of client infrastructures, including servers, networks, cloud services, and security systems
• Design, implement and manage infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments (primarily Microsoft Azure)
• Support and troubleshoot issues across diverse client setups, including Windows Server environments, virtual machines, and network infrastructure
• Take part in infrastructure projects such as cloud migrations, system upgrades, and deployments
• Liaise with clients to understand technical requirements and deliver tailored, effective solutions
• Maintain accurate records in the ticketing system, including updates, escalations, and resolutions
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and data protection regulations
• Provide occasional on-site support to clients in and around London, as required

Technical Skills & Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and Intune
• Experience with Cisco networking (routing, switching, firewalls)
• Virtualisation technologies: Hyper-V, VMware, and Azure VMs
• Solid experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, including Active Directory and Group Policy
• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Batch, or Bash
• Hands-on experience with cloud migrations and hybrid environments
• Hardware troubleshooting, builds, and server maintenance
• Previous experience in an MSP environment is highly desirable
