We're looking for a Senior Civil Engineer in Old Street, London!

You are invited to join one of the most dynamic and lively consultancies in London, who have grown organically since their conception as an employee-owned trust. They have garnered an illustrious reputation in the industry, both for engineering quality and also as an outstanding place to work.
The developments you may help bring to life include, but are not limited to:

  1. High-profile city centre office and mixed-use redevelopments;
  2. Large rural estate new builds;
  3. Educational and art institutions and museums.


You will be joining a well-established infrastructure team in a high-spec office. The office, that they designed themselves, is modern and open plan with several floors, situated a stones throw from Old Street Station.

You will be working in a wider team of approx. 20 and will collaborate with the rest of the company, which is a total of over 180, granting plenty of social opportunity. The company has recently become an Employee-Owned Trust; meaning each team has a representative who will feed back to the trust on queries or ideas for the direction of the business.

The team feel is added to by weekly whole office meetings where engineers and technicians have the opportunity to discuss their projects and offer help and guidance to each other.

Role: You will take project ownership for development-related highway schemes in for a variety of high-profile developments, in the capital and beyond, including city centre office and mixed-use redevelopments, large rural estate new builds, education and commercial sites.


Responsibilities: Production of engineering designs to support new developments, which may include:

  • Preliminary and detailed design of estate roads, junctions, roundabouts and other related infrastructure;
  • Production of S278/S38 (Highways Act) packages to support developments;
  • 3D modelling using Civil 3D;
  • Use of drawing design tools like AutoCAD;
  • Management of Engineers and Technicians;
  • Liaison with Highway Authorities and statutory bodies;
  • Providing internal and external design best practice guidance;
  • Technical quality assurance;
  • Input into bid development.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Project ownership and management;
  • Collaboration with stakeholders, architects, and engineers;
  • Data analysis and research.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of the above, attained through experience at a UK consultancy.
  • Knowledge of related software including AutoCAD, AutoDesk Civil 3D, Site3D, KeyTERRA-FIRMA or Causeway PDS.
