Public Health Principal

Hillingdon Council are recruiting an Interim Public Health Principal.

Required:

• Interim Public Health Principal for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend for up to 12 months.
• £600 per day.
• Inside IR35.
• Hybrid working but with a requirement to be in the office for key meetings - on average 4 to 6 days a month.

Job Purpose:

Undertake a strategic leadership role across the council and with a wide range of partners locally and regionally. Develop a clear vision and strategy for cross-cutting programmes of work with a focus on health improvement, health protection and healthcare public health.

The requirement is for a generalist Public Health Principal but must have experience of strategic leadership of drug and alcohol and sexual health services. Experience of commissioning 0-19 child public health services will be an advantage. You will be joining a small public health team so there is a need to be flexible in terms of work priorities.

Must have a Masters in Public Health and a minimum of 5 years experience of working in a strategic public health leadership role in a local authority.

Membership of the Faculty of Public Health and participation in a formal programme of CPD is desirable.

Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
