Introduction

You will work in either the Members and Members' Staff Services Team (MMSST) or the People Management Team (PMT).

The People Management Team (PMT) delivers a broad range of expert HR support across all teams of the House of Commons. The Members and Members' Staff Services Team (MMSST) offers Members and their staff a range of support and guidance.

The Roles

People Partner

This role sits within PACT as part of a group which is responsible for supporting the strategic and day to day HR needs of teams across the House of Commons.

The purpose of the People Partner role is to:

  • Provide support and advice to managers on complex HR issues.
  • Manage casework through all stages.
  • Coach and develop Line Managers through development sessions.
  • Provide information about HR policies and procedures to staff.

Members' People Partner

This role sits within the MMSST, which is part of PACT. Members' People Partners (MPPs) provide high volume case management guidance in all areas of complex HR matters

The purpose of the Members' People Partner role is to:

  • Support and advise a region of Members and their HR proxies to manage employee relations casework.
  • Provide appropriate support and advice to Members and their HR proxies on HR issues.
  • Coach, develop, and advise Members and their HR proxies.
  • Assist and develop clear and consistent HR policies, procedures and guidance for Members and their HR proxies.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or have equivalent experience.
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation with an understanding of relevant case law and experience of advising line managers on complex casework.
  • Experience of delivering excellent customer service.
  • The ability to work successfully within a team, whilst upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to prioritise and deliver results.
  • Experience of analysing data to identify trends, making recommendations for improvement.
