Overview
We are seeking an enthsiastic Assistant QS or Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are accurately estimated and controlled. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial plans.
- Conduct regular cost analysis and reporting to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure effective cost control measures are implemented.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate terms to achieve the best value for the project.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to the project.
- Provide advice on procurement strategies and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience
- Proven experience in cost control within the construction industry is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications for quantity surveying and cost management.
