ASD Support Worker - SEN School (All Levels of Autism)

Location: Waltham Forest Salary: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)Contract: Full-time / Long-termStart Date: October/November

Philosophy Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Support Worker to join a welcoming SEN school that caters to children with a range of Autism Spectrum Disorders from verbal to non-verbal students.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with de-escalation training or experience supporting students with challenging behaviour who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with ASD.
• Assist with communication, sensory, and emotional regulation needs.
• Implement behaviour support plans and use positive behaviour strategies.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with ASD.
• Training or knowledge in de-escalation techniques (e.g. Team Teach, PRICE, or similar).
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Excellent communication skills and adaptability.
• A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).
