Head Of Finance Change - Hybrid Working
We are partnering with a dynamic, fast-growing bank backed by private equity, currently undergoing a significant transformation across its finance and business operations. As part of this journey, we are seeking an experienced Head of Finance Change to lead and deliver a broad portfolio of change initiatives from large-scale system upgrades to smaller automation and optimisation projects.
The Head of Finance Change will lead strategic transformation across our finance function. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring our finance systems, processes, and people are future-ready. You'll be the bridge between finance, technology, and business strategy; championing change and delivering measurable impact.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance leadership team, the Head of Finance Change will be responsible for driving and delivering finance-related change projects across the bank. This includes ownership of large enterprise programmes, as well as business-led initiatives that impact the Finance function.
You'll work closely with stakeholders across Finance, IT, and the bank's lending divisions to ensure change is delivered effectively, on time, and in line with regulatory and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver key strategic projects, including:
Bank Reconciliation Tool implementation
Accounts Payable (AP) system upgrade
Data Warehouse upgrade
Treasury system upgrade
Potential General Ledger replacement
Take ownership of wider finance-related change initiatives driven by other business units (e.g. Lending platform changes)
Manage a portfolio of smaller-scale initiatives focused on automation, process improvement, and system optimisation
Develop and execute a multi-year finance transformation roadmap aligned with business goals.
Ensure projects are structured and governed effectively, particularly on larger programmes involving dedicated teams
Operate in a hands-on capacity when needed, particularly on leaner projects without dedicated teams
What We're Looking For
Proven track record of delivering complex finance transformation projects in financial services (banking experience highly desirable)
Qualified accountant or deep understanding of financial reporting, ledgers, and accounting systems
Strong understanding of finance systems, ideally with exposure to tools such as Workday or Phoebus (not essential)
Experience delivering both enterprise-wide change and smaller tactical enhancements
Comfortable operating in high-growth, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence across Finance, IT, and business teams
Experience in change management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
Outcome-focused with a "roll up your sleeves" approach - this is not a back-seat or purely strategic role
