Job Requirements/Description

The role

Are you passionate about crafting creative media content that leaves a lasting impact? Do you have a talent for videography and editing? This a great opportunity to join a globally renowned university and contribute to the future of online education.

Joining the UAL Online production team as a Videographer and Editor, you'll collaborate with our talented team to produce innovative, accessible, and visually captivating video and audio content across various subject areas including art, design, and fashion. This will include involvement in all stages of media briefs, from development to delivery, showcasing your strong skills in pre-production, production, and post-production.

Your work will encompass a variety of media types, including pieces to camera, interviews, process videos, podcasts, and student showcases. The content you create will serve as essential teaching and learning materials as well as for student support, induction, marketing, and social media content, inspiring and empowering our students to excel in their creative practices and thrive in their courses.

About you

Educated to degree level, preferably in a media production subject, or with equivalent media industry experience, you will bring expertise in planning, recording, and editing various types of high-quality video and audio materials, alongside the ability to operate specialist media equipment such as cameras, video lights, lenses, and microphones.

As a valued member of our team, effective communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you'll work across multiple projects and initiatives, managing your own time efficiently to meet deadlines and maintain high standards of production. We highly value creativity and encourage innovative approaches to streamline production processes, providing unique opportunities to explore new aspects of media production relevant to our subject areas.

Application Notes - Showreel required

Please include a 1-2-minute showreel with your application showing any previous video work you have made relevant to this role (e.g., camera, lighting, editing or other postproduction work). For group projects, please specify what your role was.

Reels should be submitted in the form of full weblinks. Please include the viewing password if password protected.

Please note that if you are shortlisted, you will be required to do a simple editing test to assess your technical ability prior to your interview. Instructions and details will be provided closer to the time.
